Freejump Systems

History

Founded by Yann Dubourg in Bordeaux in 2001, FREEJUMP quickly made a name for itself with its elegant, technically advanced products, focused on performance, comfort and safety for riders and their horses.

Popular in over 60 countries, FREEJUMP has become a benchmark for innovative products that meet the needs of professional and amateur riders alike. The brand's first big success was the X'UP single-branch stirrup, featuring an automatic release in the event of a fall, inspired by bicycle pedal systems. This stirrup gave rise to the SOFT'UP range, making FREEJUMP the world leader in single-branch stirrups.

FREEJUMP also made its mark on the equestrian industry with the development of the first range of sport shoes and chaps, as well as the first airbag vest approved to the NF S72-800 standard. Today, FREEJUMP is proud to offer a complete range of equipment for riders of all disciplines, including a collection of technical clothing and helmets offering enhanced safety. We remain dedicated to our mission of innovation and excellence, to continue to meet the needs of riders worldwide.

The story of the dragonfly

The dragonfly symbolizes lightness and balance, essential qualities for any rider. Like this elegant creature, FREEJUMP strives to meet this challenge every day. Indeed, the dragonfly is the only insect capable of hovering and gliding - a true feat. This exceptional ability perfectly reflects the values and innovation that FREEJUMP integrates into each of its products, always seeking to offer riders equipment to perform with lightness and balance.

Freejump Commitments

Made in France

All their products are designed and developed by their design office in Bordeaux (France). They test each of their innovations in-house, with the historic support of some of the world's top riders. All their helmets, stirrups and airbags are manufactured in the workshop in Bordeaux. They make it a point of honour to guarantee the quality of their products and to ensure compliance with the strictest standards at every stage of production, from the initial design phase through to final testing.

Protecting the environment and respecting people and horses

At FREEJUMP, they are firmly committed to minimising their impact on the environment and promoting respect for human and equine well-being.
They carefully select materials and partners, giving preference to those who adopt management practices that respect the environment and the well-being of workers.

They attach great importance to the design of their packaging, not only to enhance the value of the products, but also to protect them during transport and reduce their environmental impact. They keep the use of plastic in the packaging to a minimum, preferring alternative, environmentally-friendly materials. They implement effective recycling programs to reduce their ecological footprint and minimise waste production. Thanks to the acquisition of a specific furnace, they have even set up a recycling program that enables them to separate steel from plastics and recycle their stirrups efficiently.

Since the creation of their first product, the FREEJUMP COLLAR, all their  innovations have been designed with the comfort of both rider and horse in mind. Each product has its own unique character that sets it apart from conventional mass production. For several years now, they have been working with the Jump Éthique association, which promotes respect and kindness towards animals as fundamental ethical requirements in the equestrian world.

Choice of materials

The materials they select for the products are of the highest quality and come from responsible sources. They use high-performance, lightweight components such as carbon fibre and fibreglass to guarantee unrivalled durability and safety.

Their stirrups are made from high-tech steels sourced from the best European steelworks, such as ThyssenKrupp and ArcelorMittal. The outer leg of single-arm stirrups is made from Elastollan®, a flexible, high-performance material that allows the leg to open in the event of a fall and return to its original shape.

The elastomers used to overmould their products are mainly made from recycled materials. In addition, they avoid materials of plant origin so as not to contribute to deforestation and conflicts with food crops.

At FREEJUMP, their commitment goes beyond simply manufacturing innovative products; they also promote values of respect, ethics, reliability and sustainability at every stage of their process.
