Freejump Advice & Maintenance
How to take care of and handle your Freejump products?
Airbag Vests
- In case of damage or anomalies, do not attempt to repair or use the airbag vest and contact our customer service before any further use.
- Regularly check the condition of the vest: no perforations, full cartridge, cartridge screwed in fully, rearming according to specifications, etc.
- If in doubt, FREEJUMP offers a complete airbag security overhaul check (cost of €59, excluding shipping and return fees). The security overhaul check is free during the first two years following the date of purchase of the airbag when you register it on the website freejumpsystem.com via this link.
- In case of stains, dampen the area and gently rub the dirty spot with a sponge and a clean cloth. Let it dry on a hanger away from heat sources and out of the sun.
- Store the airbag vest in a clean place, away from moisture and sunlight. Do not leave the airbag vest exposed to direct sunlight, under a windshield, or in a car.
- To ensure the proper functioning of the airbag vest:
- Do not wash or dry it in a machine.
- Do not use detergent.
- Do not iron it.
- No bleaching.
- No dry cleaning.

Stirrups
How to use the stirrups:
- Each stirrup is designed with distinct left and right versions. When attaching the stirrups to your saddle, ensure they are positioned on the correct side.
- For single-branch stirrups such as the (Soft Up Pro+, Classic+, Lite, Pro, Classic), always verify that the "open" side (flexible branch) is positioned on the outside of your foot.
- Important: Young children should not use larger stirrups like the Soft Up Pro+, Classic+, Pro, or Classic, as their smaller feet may slip through and become stuck. For young riders with a foot size up to 39, always opt for the Soft Up Lite.
- The Soft Up Lite is a reliable stirrup for young riders and those with foot sizes up to 39.
- The polyamide top banner of the AIR'S stirrup is designed to detach under high pressure, allowing for a quick release of the foot if necessary. Should this occur and you wish to have it repaired, please contact Horse and Balance or Freejump.
- In the event of an accident, we recommend having your stirrups inspected by Freejump technicians in France to ensure they remain safe for use. Feel free to reach out to us or Freejump to arrange an inspection.
How to maintain your stirrups.
- Use a slightly damp hard-bristled brush to clean the floor (the area with the studs that hold the boot sole). This method effectively removes dirt and debris accumulated on the floor.
- Carefully wipe the other parts of the stirrups with a soft cloth and hot water to remove dust and dirt without damaging the surfaces.
- Let the stirrups air dry. This prevents any corrosion and ensures the longevity of the stirrups.
- Caution: use the hard-bristled brush only for the footbed to avoid damaging the other parts. Regular maintenance ensures the durability and proper functioning of your stirrups.
Helmets
Important notice about helmets.
- In the event of a fall, we strongly advise purchasing a new helmet. In the past, helmets could be sent to the manufacturer for inspection of invisible damage that might compromise their effectiveness. However, due to new regulations, this practice is no longer allowed, as the helmet’s overall integrity and protective ability are considered compromised after an impact, regardless of visible damage. This means repairs cannot restore the helmet to its original safety standards, and a replacement is necessary to ensure continued protection
- If you want to change your visor, please watch the videos on our website on how to do so. If you need help with this please contact us.
How to maintain your helmet.
- Use a soft cloth and clear water (warm if necessary) to clean the outside of the helmet. Never put the helmet in a washing machine or dryer!
- Let the helmet air dry at room temperature.
- Use a chamois cloth to gently wipe the carbon surfaces.
- Never use solvents such as white spirit, acetone, or trichloroethylene. These products can alter the helmet's characteristics and damage the outer shell as well as the interior.
- Avoid contact with corrosive or aggressive substances. Some paints may contain chemicals compromising the helmet's safety.
- Care for the chin strap with specific products for faux leather.
- The inner lining is removable and washable separately at a maximum of 30°C. Let it air dry, without using a dryer.
- The ear pads are attached with Velcro and can be detached for cleaning with clear water.
- Regular helmet maintenance prolongs its life and maintains its effectiveness.
Footwear
How to use your Freejump footwear.
- Freejump footwear is designed to offer exceptional comfort and grip while riding. However, its smooth and comfortable design makes it different from standard stable boots. Therefore, it is advised to avoid exposure to ammonia or excessive mud in the stable environment, as these conditions may affect the boots.
- The zippers are crafted for maximum comfort, eliminating the need for a "breaking in" period. That said, proper care is essential. If the fit feels tight, do not force the zipper. Instead, gently pull the leather sides together to align the zipper rather than pulling on the zipper itself.
- For tall boots or chaps with two zippers, always open the calf zipper first to provide additional leverage for closing the front zipper. Once the front zipper is secured, you can close the calf zipper
How to maintain your Freejump footwear.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Never use a hard-bristled brush to clean the leather as it could scratch and damage it.
- Once the footwear is cleaned and dry, apply a nourishing cream, preferably waterproof, designed for leather. We recommend using FREEWAX cream, which hydrates and nourishes the leather, preventing cracks and prolonging the life of the footwear.
- After the nourishing cream has fully penetrated the leather, apply a thin layer of polish only if really necessary. Polish does not have nourishing properties, but it makes the footwear shine and protects it from moisture and dirt. We recommend using FREEJUMP polish, available in the FREEJUMP Leather Care Kit.
- For optimal durability of the footwear, regular use of the nourishing cream is essential, while the polish mainly helps to achieve a nice shine. Polish the footwear once or twice a week depending on use. It is not advisable to use polish too often to avoid damaging the leather.
- Regular maintenance with the FREEJUMP Leather Care Kit ensures the durability and shine of shoes and chaps.

- For the toughest stains, use detergent locally and gently rub with a clean cloth. Let it sit and wash by hand or machine at 30°C. Let the clothing air dry on a hanger away from heat sources and out of the sun.
- In case of wrinkles, hang the clothing on a hanger, it will straighten itself out.
